National Flood Services DBA Taurus Flood is the #1 flood solutions provider in the US and is looking for a dynamic sales professional to grow the number of properties covered by National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood insurance by generating new business through developing effective sales strategies, marketing excellence and distribution. This position manages a team of sales managers, leads a variety of growth initiatives, and supports industry events such as trade shows and conferences. This position is located onsite in the metro D.C. area, with potential opportunity for a hybrid working environment. Travel is required.

Experience in P&C and Flood with strong networks in the industry; Proven track record of exceeding sales targets; department oversight; bachelor’s degree; and at least 5 years of sales and supervisory experience required. Position Title: Sales Manager

Position Classification: Salaried/Exempt  

Position Summary: This position will be responsible for growing the number of properties covered by National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood insurance by generating new business through developing effective sales strategies, marketing excellence, and distribution. This position manages sales managers and supports conferences and other growth initiatives. 

Job Responsibilities/Essential Duties: 

  • Promote the sale of flood insurance for the NFIP.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on customer retention, product offerings, new customers, and new distribution streams to drive policy-in-force (PIF) growth, and superior customer satisfaction.
  • Lead a team of sales managers.
  • Lead sales, marketing, and collateral development activities closely coordinating with the clients. 
  • Collect and analyze regional sales trend data and recognize top sellers. 
  • Design, implement, execute, and evaluate annual regional sales plans.
  • Identify opportunities, including marketing campaigns, flood awareness weeks, hurricane preparedness weeks, local and regional events, etc. for our clients’ agents to increase their flood sales. 
  • Coordinate marketing and awareness campaigns. 
  • Serve as the point of contact leader between agents and clients. 
  • Perform site visits with top-selling agents and agents showing outstanding growth potential as appropriate. 
  • Provide local agents with tools and resources during major flood events. 
  • Identify any issues with specific agents and inform senior management of issues and suggested corrective actions; encourage agents not selling flood insurance currently to sell NFIP products. 
  • Work with operations, technology, and other areas of the business to ensure sales commitments are implemented. 

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of sales and supervisory/management experience.
  • Proven experience as a sales leader.
  • Experience with the National Flood Insurance Program products and services.
  • Proven track record of overachievement and exceeding sales targets.
  • Motivated self-starter with a passion for sales.
  • Ability to work under daily/weekly deadlines in a fast-changing work environment.
  • Industry market knowledge in insurance. 
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and networking skills.
  • Exceptional project management and time management skills.
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques.

Position Location: 

This position is onsite in our facility which is located in the metro D.C. area. Potential opportunity for a hybrid working environment that would require in-office work at least 3 days/week or as otherwise agreed.

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to travel frequently, including overnight; both in-state and out-of-state travel required, and have access to a commercial airport.
  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.

National Flood Services DBA Taurus Flood is the #1 flood solutions provider in the US and is looking for an experienced Flood Claims General Adjuster to join us as we build out our firm to meet the future needs of the flood industry.  As a Flood Claims General Adjuster, your role is responsible for representing the company in interactions with FEMA, policyholders, vendors, adjusting firms, and the National Flood Insurance Program with the goal of assisting in all aspects of the claims process. Travel is required.

Current FEMA-issued Flood Certification Number (FCN card) (Residential, Manufactured Housing, Small, Large Commercial and RCBAP adjustment authorization required; Knowledge of flood claims adjusting software; bachelor’s degree; and minimum 5 years’ experience in providing general adjusting and estimating for residential and commercial flood claims. Salary is negotiable based on experience.  Total compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Position Title: Claims General Adjuster

Position Summary: This position will be responsible for building out our firm to meet the future needs of the flood industry and representing the company in interactions with FEMA, policyholders, vendors, adjusting firms, and the National Flood Insurance Program to assist in all aspects of the claims process. 

Job Responsibilities/Essential Duties: 

  • Effectively communicate with FEMA, clients, vendors, and policyholders.
  • Explain coverage of loss and applicable policy provisions to policyholders, public adjusters, and agents.
  • Consistent claim follow-up with adjusting firms and policyholders to set expectations on the claims process.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle claims within your designated authority level.
  • Work with FEMA and other stakeholders on technical claims issues and large loss claims of more than $500,000.
  • Work jointly with FEMA and our outside adjusting partners to resolve complex claims issues.

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Current FEMA-issued Flood Certification Number (FCN card) (Residential, Manufactured Housing, Small, Large Commercial, and RCBAP adjustment authorization required.
  • Minimum of 5 years providing general adjusting and estimating for residential and commercial flood claims. 
  • Knowledge of flood claims adjusting software.

  • Work independently with moderate supervision as well as within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and apply claim-handling practices and procedures.
